EDI by Design Supported Transactions

Our EDI solutions at EDI by Design support the two most widely used transaction set formats – ASC X12 and EDIFACT.

Both transaction sets offer standards for a wide range of business transactions and document types. This includes:

  • Purchasing and orders
  • Purchasing orders edits and deletions
  • 3PL pick tickets and delivery notifications
  • 3PL container receiving notifications
  • Customer routing and confirmations (753/754 route)
  • Shipping including Advance Ship Notices
  • Customer forecasts and material planning
  • Customer product movement
  • Invoicing
  • Payments
  • Industry-specific data requirements

By offering support for both transaction set formats, you will be able to transact with all your trading partners in full EDI compliance.

EDIFACT is an international standard for EDI. It is common outside the US but is also used in the US, particularly in the automotive industry.

ASC X12 is the EDI standard from the American National Standards Institute. It is common in the US but is used internationally as well.

What You Can Do with the Transaction Formats We Support

Both ASC X12 and EDIFACT include document formats for a wide range of common business transactions. They also allow you to automate many document handling processes, making them more accurate and efficient.

Examples include:

  • Print packing and picking lists
  • Quickly send Purchase Order Acknowledgements
  • Orders can be sent to warehouses, logistics providers, or brokers
  • Automatically create Advance Ship Notices and invoices from POs with no manual data entry
  • And much more...

Our EDI solutions fully comply with the above transaction set standards but, within those parameters, we have made our solutions as flexible and adaptable as possible. This ensures seamless integration with your existing systems and processes, minimising delays and costs.
